  1. INSTALLING POWERBAR

  3. 1) Copy the PowerBar Control Panel to your Control Panels Folder (in the System Folder).
  4. 2) Copy the PowerBar Folder to the Preferences Folder (also in the System Folder).
  5. 3) Restart your Macintosh
  6. NOTE: YOU MUST PERFORM THE LATTER STEP *BEFORE* YOU OPEN THE CONTROL PANEL!!

  8. Here's what the folder heirarchy should look like:

  23. Upon restart, you should see an empty toolbar with several buttons displayed.  Additionally, you should notice that a new menu has appeared in the Finder's menu bar.  This is the PowerBar menu which appears in the following form (an icon of a toolbar with a bolt of lightening):

  27. This menu contains several options for hiding/showing the toolbar, setup, customization, and obtaining assistance.

  29. To learn the basics of setting up your new toolbar, click the small “Help Balloon” icon in the Powerbar Control Panel.  The ensuing dialog contains all the documentation relevent to using this utility.  Please read this documentation so that you may utilize the full potential of PowerBar.
